PaperBull is a free paper trading platform for Indian stock market options. It gives you virtual capital (₹1,00,000 for free users, ₹10,00,000 for Premium) and lets you trade NIFTY, BANKNIFTY, SENSEX, FINNIFTY, MIDCPNIFTY and BANKEX options using real NSE/BSE market data. All trades are simulated — no real money is involved.
Yes. The free plan gives you access to real NSE option chains, ₹1,00,000 in virtual capital, and full paper trading functionality with no credit card required. A Premium plan (₹99/month or ₹179 for 2 months) unlocks ₹10,00,000 virtual capital, premium index charts, and priority access to new features.
Yes. PaperBull displays live option chains sourced from licensed NSE/BSE data providers, updated in real time during market hours (9:15 AM to 3:30 PM IST, Monday to Friday). The LTP, OI, volume, and bid/ask data you see on PaperBull reflects actual market conditions.
PaperBull supports paper trading for all major Indian index options: NIFTY 50, BANKNIFTY, SENSEX, FINNIFTY, MIDCPNIFTY, and BANKEX. You can trade both Call (CE) and Put (PE) options across all available weekly and monthly expiries.
P&L is calculated using real order prices (LTP/ask for buys, LTP/bid for sells). Brokerage charges of ₹20 flat per order, STT (0.1% on sell side), NSE exchange charges (0.053%), SEBI fees (₹10 per crore), stamp duty (0.003% on buy), and 18% GST are all applied — exactly as they would be with Zerodha or other flat-fee brokers.
Currently, PaperBull supports option buying (long CE and PE). You buy options and then square off by selling them — which is the standard approach for retail F&O traders. Full option writing (short CE/PE) with margin calculations is planned for a future update.
Paper trading prepares you for the mechanical and analytical aspects of trading — understanding option chains, placing orders, managing positions, and tracking P&L. However, it does not replicate the emotional pressure of risking real capital. We recommend combining paper trading with education and a solid risk management plan before moving to live trading.

Yes. You can reset your portfolio at any time from the Positions tab. This clears all open positions, order history, and P&L, and restores your virtual capital to the plan default. Resets are unlimited — use them whenever you want to start fresh.
Sign up with just your email address. We send a One-Time Password (OTP) to your email for verification — no password is required. The process takes less than 60 seconds and requires no credit card.
Yes. PaperBull uses HTTPS/SSL encryption for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed and salted. We do not store payment card details — all payments are processed by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We never sell your personal data to third parties.
No. The free plan is completely free with no hidden charges. The only paid offering is the Premium plan at ₹99/month or ₹179 for 2 months, which you can optionally subscribe to for higher virtual capital and premium charts.
Premium users have access to professional candlestick charts for all supported indices with indicators including EMA (20/50/200), SMA, Bollinger Bands, VWAP, and RSI. Charts are available in 1-minute, 5-minute, 15-minute, 1-hour, and daily timeframes. Option strike charts are also available to analyse individual CE and PE price movements.
Yes. PaperBull is a web-based platform that works on all modern browsers on both desktop and mobile devices. A dedicated mobile app is in development.
